Good Calculator, Bad Converter
Great as a calculator.
It would be nice if starring a calculation synced with iCloud to the Mac version or my other devices, since I dont always remember what I was calculating on. Also being able to give a short title to the calculation so I know WHAT the heck I was calculating is pretty important. Being able to see a history but not knowing what the numbers mean is only useful for the last 2-3 calculations maybe and then it starts to lose meaning.
Convertbots circular interface was so much nicer to use with my thumb as it was continuous and I just keep going around until I found the right conversion type. In this app, my thumb often obscures the tiny icons and there are no text titles on the tiny icons either, so you have to memorize them or know what they mean by the tiny icon. The icons in Convertbot were bigger and there was a title at the top for each which really helped. Convertbot had an extra step or two but it was fun to use. It felt purposeful and mechanical. Like a "bot" should. This also displays EVERYTHING youre converting to all at once which is a bit overwhelming visually, unless you find reading spreadsheets fun.
Theres also no way to save your conversion to the history sheet or whatever its called at the top.
Converting in this app is all utility, zero fun. Theres no "bot" left in these apps. No fun sounds or mechanical feel.
